Welcome to the STAR programme

STAR

The STAR programme is a Hivos initiative that aims at catalysing and improving he strategic use of ICTs amongst its partners. In the first phase of the programme; 2006-2009, it was found that most of the partners lacked cohesive internal and external communication structures thereby impeding effective communication.

STAR was rolled out with the aim of helping several partner organisations; consolidate their resources to map out effective information, communication and marketing strategies. In 2010, Hivos engaged Accenture, NaiLab and TNO to work with their partners in a participatory approach that managed to curate solutions for the organisations listed below -:

- EANNASO, Arusha, Tanzania

- Kivulini, Mwanza, Tanzania

- KRC, Fort Portal, Uganda

- LVCT, Nairobi, Kenya

- RicNet, Fort Portal, Uganda

- WOUGNET, Kampala, Uganda

Workshop Training

Two trainings in the use of the Communication Toolkit were held in Pretoria, South Africa on 4 - 7 November 2008 and in Nairobi on 10 - 13 November 2008.
