Here you will find information about the Hivos STAR programme, its objectives and activities. Also, information and updates on the different STAR projects are available here as well as individual experiences of partners and useful learning tools and resources.

The STAR programme is a public-private partnership between KPN and Hivos with the aim to increase the strategic use of ICTs among HIV/AIDS organisations and microfinance institutions in 6 African countries: Namibia, Malawi and Mozambique,Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. • Hivos has been awarded the PSO Quality Bonus! PSO was pleased with the impact of STAR on the partners involved and how the various interesting insights and lessons lead to changes at partner and Hivos level.
• Microfinance project is progressing well: 2 new MFIs have joined the project for Mifos deployment.
• A new version of the SMS Bulktool is available for the STAR partners. You can contact us if  your organisation is interested in using it.
• A follow-up programme is currently being developed that builds on the valuable and lessons and experiences of STAR. The follow-up programme is expected to start in January 2010.
