The STAR programme is unigue because it works with volunteers.
The cooperation between Hivos and KPN is focussing on a win-win situation. How can Hivos help KPN to achieve its target, how can Hivos be supported b Hivos.
Within the STAR programme KPN supplies knowledge and expertise to the partners organsations Hivos works with. KPN recruits vounteers from their staff whom are interested in working for one of the STAR projects. This sometime consist of developing a software programme in the Netherlands for NGO's in Africa to be use. But sometime the volunteer will have to travel and support for example with the implementation of a childhelpline.
