Infocentre

The objective of the the project is to support Aro Mozambique in using ICTs more strategically in their core activities.

There are two activities planned in this perspective:
1. The development and implementation of an information centre (incl. portal)
2. The implementation of a sms bulktool
The objective of the information centre is to create an opportunity for the Aro Mozambique volunteers to access relevant HIV/AIDS material in Portuguese (through a portal) and to share experiences with other Youth (organisations). At the same time basic ICT skills will be trained. The centre will be managed by the volunteers themselves.

The sms bulktool is an addition to the other forms of communications that Aro Mozambique is already using in communicating HIV/AIDS information, like theatre, dance and music. The sms bulktool will reach out to the young people using modern technologies that appeal to young people. The sms bulktool is software that enables Aro Mozambique to communicate which large groups of young people through the mobile phone. The tool is interactive and therefore the young people are able to react as well. Aro Mozambique will be trained in using the tool, use it in a programmatic way and will manage all aspects of it in house.

The whole project is supported by KPN volunteers who will assist Aro Mozambique in developing the portal, the training of the sms bulkool as well as more general project management skills.
